Η Παρασκευή ήταν μια τραγική μέρα. Μία πολύ μεγάλη πυρκαγιά είχε ξεσπάσει πολύ κοντά στα Δοριζάτα. Η Μαρίνα πήγε εκεί κατευθείαν για να δει αν υπήρχαν ζώα που χρειάζονταν βοήθεια.
Η φωτιά εξαπλώθηκε πολύ γρήγορα και σύντομα ήρθαν ελικόπτερα και τουλάχιστον 7 αεροπλάνα στον αέρα, πολλοί πυροσβέστες με τα πυροσβεστικά τους οχήματα, εθελοντές και αστυνομία στο έδαφος για να εκκενώσουν. Ο άνεμος άλλαζε συνεχώς και η φωτιά πήγαινε κατευθείαν στα σπίτια.
Όταν η Μαρίνα έφτασε εκεί, οι άνθρωποι της είπαν ότι υπήρχε ένα σπίτι με έναν σκύλο και δύο κλουβιά με πουλιά, και ο ιδιοκτήτης δεν ήταν στο σπίτι. Έτσι, παρά το γεγονός ότι της είπαν να φύγει γιατί υπήρχε πολύ μαύρο καπνό, η Μαρίνα είπε στους αστυνομικούς να καθίσουν μαζί της μέχρι να πάρουν τα ζώα. Πήγε να βρει το σπίτι και στην αναζήτησή της εισέπνευσε πολύ καπνό.
Τελικά βρήκε το σπίτι, αλλά ήταν κλειδωμένο με λουκέτο. Ευτυχώς, ο εθελοντής μας Κρις μπόρεσε να πάει γρήγορα εκεί για να τη βοηθήσει και μπόρεσε να σπάσει το λουκέτο. Έβγαλαν τα ζώα έξω και τα μετέφεραν γρήγορα σε ασφαλές μέρος. Όλα τα ζώα και οι άνθρωποι βγήκαν έξω χωρίς να πάθουν τίποτα.
Ο ιδιοκτήτης τους ήταν στο νοσοκομείο, αλλά παρόλο που δεν ήταν καλά, όταν έλαβε την κλήση για την πυρκαγιά, έσπευσε αμέσως στο σπίτι του για να σώσει τα ζώα του, τα οποία ευτυχώς είχαν ήδη σωθεί από τη Μαρίνα και τον Κρις. Όταν έφτασε στο χωριό και μίλησε με την Μαρίνα και είδε ότι τα ζώα του είναι ασφαλής, ήταν τόσο συγκινημένος που την ευχαρίστησε τόσο πολύ και της είπε ‘ο Θεός σας έστειλε, δεν θα το ξεχάσω ποτέ αυτό το καλό που μου κάνατε.’
Χάρη στην προσπάθεια όλων των ανθρώπων που πάλεψαν με την πυρκαγιά, η φωτιά σταμάτησε ακριβώς την ώρα πριν κινδυνέψαν τα σπίτια. Τα αεροπλάνα περνούσαν πάνω από το ARK ασταμάτητα για να πάρουν νερό από τη θάλασσα. Όλα τα σκυλιά ήταν ανήσυχα, ήξεραν ότι κάτι κακό συνέβαινε. Κρατούσαμε την καρδιά μας περιμένοντας να ακούσουμε νέα από τη Μαρίνα και τον Κρις. Ευτυχώς, μια τραγωδία αποτράπηκε και όλα τα ζώα και οι άνθρωποι είναι καλά. Άλλη μια αποστολή ολοκληρώθηκε. Ας ελπίσουμε ότι δεν θα υπάρξουν άλλες πυρκαγιές αυτό το καλοκαίρι. Ο ιδιοκτήτης γύρισε στο νοσοκομείο, αλλά τα ζώα τα γυρίσαμε το βραδυ στο σπίτι τους ευτυχισμένα στην γυναίκα του που έλειπε και αυτή από το σπίτι. Και εμείς χαρήκαμε με την επιτυχία της αποστολής μας.
Να ευχαριστήσουμε τους κατοίκους της γειτονιάς που τρέξανε να βοηθήσουν την Μαρίνα με σωστές πληροφορίες. Επίσης τους ευχαριστούμε που μάζεψαν τα αδέσποτα γατάκια στα σπίτια τους για να είναι ασφαλής. Αυτό έγινε μάλλον για πρώτη φορά και είναι πολύ ενθαρρυντικό για το μέλλον, άνθρωποι που προστατεύουν τα αδέσποτα ζωάκια όταν κινδυνεύουν. Επίσης να ευχαριστήσουμε τους δύο αστυνομικούς που ήταν δίπλα μας και τον Chris Howcroft που όταν τον καλένουμε για βοήθεια έρχεται αμέσως.

🇬🇧 Yesterday was a tragic day. A very large fire had broken out very close to Dorizata. Marina went there straight away to see if there were any animals that needed help. The fire spread very quickly and soon there were helicopters and at least 7 planes in the air, many firefighters with their fire engines, volunteers and police on the ground to evacuate. The wind was constantly changing and the fire was going straight towards the houses. When Marina got there, people told her that there was a house with a dog and two cages with birds, and the owner was not at home. So, despite the fact that they told her to leave because there was a lot of black smoke, Marina asked the police to stay with her until they find and take the animals. She continued to look for the house and in her search she inhaled a lot of smoke. She finally found the house, but it was locked with a padlock. Fortunately, our volunteer Chris was able to get there quickly to help her and was able to break the lock. They got the animals out and quickly transported them to a safe place. All the animals and people got away without any harm. The owner of the animals was in hospital, but even though he was not well, when he received the call about the fire, he immediately rushed to his house to save his animals, which fortunately had already been saved by Marina and Chris. When he arrived in the village and spoke to Marina and saw that his animals were safe, he was so moved that he thanked her so much and said to her ‘God sent you, I will never forget this good thing you did for me.’
Thanks to the efforts of all the people who fought the fire, the fire stopped just in time before the houses were in danger. Planes were flying over the ARK non-stop to get water from the sea. All the dogs were anxious, they knew something bad was happening. We held our hearts waiting to hear news from Marina and Chris. Fortunately, a tragedy was averted and all the animals and people are fine. Another mission completed. Let’s hope there won’t be any more fires this summer. The owner had to go back to the hospital, but we returned the animals happily to their home in the evening to his wife who was also away from home during the fire. We were very happy with the success of our mission.
We would like to thank the residents of the neighborhood who ran to help Marina with correct information. We also thank them for taking the stray kittens into their homes so that they would be safe. This is probably the first time this has happened and it is very encouraging for the future, people who protect stray animals when they are in danger. We would also like to thank the two police officers who were next to us and Chris Howcroft who, when we call him for help, comes immediately.
